One Week To Turnout
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
One week. That’s all that’s left, and we can feel the pressure building in every conversation, every headline, and every poll that tries to tell you the story before a single vote is counted. We share what we’re seeing firsthand while traveling and speaking across the country, and why the “on the ground” reality often clashes with the media narrative. If you care about faith and culture, biblical values, and the real-world impact of Christian voter turnout, this is the moment to lock in your plan.
We also talk about something bigger than politics: the rising generation. Tim shares what hit him at Liberty University, where 10,000 students packed an arena for worship and it felt unmistakably like God is stirring bold faith again. That encouragement matters because the stakes are real, and close elections can turn on a few thousand votes when churches stay silent or believers stay home.
From there, we dig into the mechanics: why early voting stats can be misread, how polling can create false confidence or needless panic, and what it looks like to strategically focus on competitive House races and key Senate races in places most people ignore. We also share why election integrity reforms at the state level matter, what to watch for on election night coverage, and where to find help researching candidates if you’re still deciding.
If you found this helpful, subscribe to the WallBuilders Show, share it with a friend who needs a clear head right now, and leave a review so more people can find faith-based, historically grounded election insight.
Faith, Culture, And Election Countdown
Rick GreenWelcome to the Intersection of Faith and Culture. It's the WallBuilder show taking on the hot topics of the day from a biblical, historical, and constitutional perspective. Great week of shows coming up. Got some special guests coming later in the week. Had an amazing weekend. All three of us on the WallBuilder show traveling across the country in the final couple of weeks of the election. And of course, we are going to talk about that today because uh we're down to such a short number, a small number of days left in the election.
Where To Find WallBuilders
Rick GreenBut first off, first off, check out our websites, wallbuilders.Show for the radio program. Lots of great programming last week, especially. Be sure and check that out at the website, wallbuilders.Show. Or if you're listening on a podcast app, you can always just scroll back through uh some of the previous shows there. And then wallbuilders.com, our main website. Of course, that's where you get everything else. Find out about all the different activities happening throughout the year and all the materials, all the all the wonderful Christmas items you could be shopping for right now for your friends and family. Lots of cool stuff there on the website. So check that out at wobbleders.com. And as always, encourage you to make that one timer monthly contribution. You can do that at wobbleders.com. It helps us to reach more people with the radio program, helps us to stay on the air on so many of these stations across the country. And man, I I've been shocked at how many people in the last few months have talked about this is their source. Uh, this is where they get their diet of information. It's what encourages them. So many people talking about Good News Friday and how important it has been to them with all the black pilling going on, even from people on the right. Uh so you can help get this program into more people's hands and make sure it stays on the air by making a contribution at wobbleers.com. So, David and Tim, it's been a fantastic this last week. I mean, really, all over the country. The response from people on the ground, I think, has been fantastic. Uh, I was just, you know, uh my local commissioner was just asking me, you know, what I thought. And I said, man, beat you know, I think 24 cities in the last 25 days. Of course, David, you and uh Chad Conley do 24 cities in one day. So uh that was nothing. But um, no, seriously, I mean, we we've been we've all three been all over the place, and it just feels different on the ground and and responses from people to what the media's been saying is what I told my my local commissioner, and of course, Tim, we were both getting uh to I was only at liberty for a little bit. You got to be there for several days with Erica Kirk and all these other great speakers. What was you did? You kind of come away from that the same way that I did?
SPEAKER_02I'm assuming the way that you came away was the same as I did, yes. I don't know, I'm sure we had the same feeling, but what what struck me so much, guys? Uh obviously today we're gonna talk some about polling and elections and uh
Liberty University And Rising Generation
SPEAKER_02what we think maybe is really a more accurate feel of the landscape of the nation and specifically with elections. What struck me from this weekend at liberty was something a little different than election related, but I think probably connected. Uh it was Friday morning at convocation, which is is kind of like their chapel, they do it twice a week. Wednesday morning and Friday morning, the students come, they're in their little arena, um, which seeks 10,000 and it's totally full. So they have 10,000 students in there. Um, the worship team, guys, so impressive, incredible. Uh we have all of us have spoken in hundreds and hundreds, if not thousands, of churches. And I'm telling you, I don't know if I've been to many places where the worship team was any more talented or anointed than that worship team. And being in a place, again, with 10,000 students just singing worship songs to Jesus, it was so incredible. I had some tears in my eyes. I'm just worshiping Jesus, looking around the room, you know, like surrounded by this chorus of believers. It the thing that struck me from this weekend of Liberty was that God is raising up a new generation. And we have talked often about the revival happening in America, what we think very likely is a new great awakening. But being in a place where it's so evident and visible from this generation that is loving Jesus and wanting to boldly live their faith, wanting to engage the market and the the world, the arena around them. My big takeaway was just an encouragement of this rising generation. And then, you know, Rick, as you mentioned, there were so many fun speakers, the the Nick Freitas and the Riley Gaines and the Bob McEwen and the Bill Fetter, and they go down the list, right? Ryan Applebeim, his team, he he's the one hosting it. It was a standing for Freedom Center of incredible event they put on there, Liberty. But just being there with so many students, first of all on convocation, and then even at the event, um, where so many came to the event and and they're just wanting to learn and grow and go serve Jesus in their life. It was so encouraging.
Rick GreenI was also thinking, Tim, it was like a, you know, we had all those people there, but then you also have these rallies going on all over the country that none of the three of us got to make it to. Uh, of course, then you see all these Trump rallies almost every night. I mean, this guy's 80 years old and he's going, you know, hour and a half, two hours each time. Um, so there does seem to be some great energy out there. David, you're on the road with Chad Conley. You guys are hitting several cities a day, and I'm guessing seeing, you know, the same thing. I'm wondering if the pastor response, you're specifically talking to pastors and churches and communities like that, is it the same for them? And you're hitting states that I honestly, like I think what were you in New Hampshire and Maine last week, I think uh Nevada this weekend. I mean, you're you're you're hitting states I wouldn't have even thought right here at the end. Uh what's the response like for you?
Blue State Pastor Outreach Strategy
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you know, it's interestingly what we're doing is um at least one state a day, sometimes two states a day, anywhere from one to three, sometimes four meetings a day, and all pastor-oriented, all about getting pastors out. And they have been in what we would consider typically blue states. Um I I mean Maine i is kind of purple, um a at least does have the potential of having a congressional seat up there that that will be uh conservative, and that's part of why we were up well, that's largely why we were up there. But whether it be there or the the potential of a Senate seat pickup um in in New Hampshire, which is a real possibility, um we're we're in states like Minnesota, you know, which is really blue, and and Michigan, which is kind of purple. And and so we're we're not in safe red states, and that's why we're going there. And we've looked at a number of these races and we we've kind of identified 43 house races. And and uh and just put the per perspective on this for a little bit. In the last three two, three, four generations, the the party that has the president loses on average twenty-five to twenty-eight House seats in an election and they lose four Senate seats, which would mean Republicans lose the House in the Senate, which means everything that would be done in the last two years would be only by executive order, um, and that would be fought everywhere, or they would try to, you know, override that. So with all of that, we're we're trying to be in in places where that we think we can save or pick up a Senate seat, or we can save or pick up a House seat. And I don't know, guys, but I I mean, we're seeing some things that really go counterintuitive, uh that instead of losing four seats in the Senate, there's this possibility of picking up two seats in the Senate. And I don't know that that's been done in generations, literally. Um and I I I think the House is a real possibility. I know Mike Johnson, Speaker of the House, he's convinced it's a possibility, and his polling doesn't look like that of the others, which kind of leads us to the big story that came out in the last couple of days about Wedgeworth
Polling Scandals And Early Vote Myths
SPEAKER_01polling. Turns out they were making up all their polls except one, and those polls were being reported nationally, and and those polls literally were favoring Democrat candidates by up to 10 points, which was giving a lot of you know perception in earned media that that there's this landslide coming. And I'm just not seeing that, and and I'm gonna, you know, jump on a soapbox here a minute. I I'm seeing stuff even by my own state, Texas, about what the voter turnouts are looking like and how many of the early votes are Republican, how many Democrat, et cetera. And I'm just gonna say bunk. Um those votes are not counted yet. They haven't been open or tabulated. Nobody knows if they voted R or D. And all this speculation that comes out by all the analysts on what percent that is just not possible because those ballots have not been opened and they won't be open and counted until election night. And so I'm just watching all these news stories counting, you know, out early ballots and how it's going Republican and Democratic. And that's just that's pure nonsense because that's not even legal for them to know what's in there, and they don't know what's in there. It's all speculational modeling. And so I just I I'm ignoring most of the that speculation, but what I'm seeing on the ground, man, I've got I I've got really good optimism.
SPEAKER_02Well, Dad, one thing that that is worth noting, and you're saying we don't know who's voting for what, but you can see uh generally speaking, uh when people turn out, you can see if they're a Republican, if they're a Democrat, you can see who they're registered for. And so this is where you can get some uh analysis and data. And and the reason I say this and it's worth uh addressing is because there's several places where there's a a much higher turnout than expected for early voting for Republicans, because generally speaking, about 50% of the Republican vote comes on election day. Sometimes it's a little up from there, uh depending on the state. Generally speaking, two-thirds of the Democrat vote happens in early voting. So when people are looking, going, hey, the Democrats are Republicans, if you don't factor in what is is generally uh done in Republican and Democrat kind of voting patterns and methods, um, it can be misleading as well. So you're right, Dad. We don't know if some of these Republicans in Texas, as an example, maybe, maybe some Republicans in Texas are voting for James Talerico. Maybe there's some Democrats in Texas that are voting for Ken Paxton. We we we don't see their ballots, we don't know who they're voting for, but you can get an indication of who the turnout is coming from. And certainly when you look at at the fact that Democrats might be outpacing, or maybe they're not keeping pace. Maybe Republicans are outpacing, not keeping pace. So you can track some of this stuff certainly as you go. But Dad, one of the things you mentioned earlier, too, is that you guys are spending a lot of time in some of these states where you think you can pick up or maybe uh try to secure some of these seats by encouraging pastors to tell their people to get involved, to Show up and vote, knowing that so often elections are decided by a couple thousand. Uh, if it's a Senate race, maybe a hundred, two hundred thousand, not that many votes. And if Christians who are in the pews or chairs, depending on what kind of church you go to, if Christians would Show up and vote, generally speaking, there could be an overwhelming win for the side of biblical values, the biblical truth of life and marriage and uh gender, biological sex, et cetera. Things that are very clear in scripture. If Christians would Show up and vote for biblical values, it you we could totally win this going away. But I say this because you mentioned you're in a lot of blue states. Well, you also have been in Texas and Florida and Georgia places where there are opportunities to pick up some congressional seats, or maybe we want to kind of shure up and hey, we don't want to lose this congressional seat or make a difference in some of the Senate races as well. And so there has been a lot of strategy involved with what Chad Connolly and his team have laid out with us going and joining them and speaking at some of these events. And of course, as as we've mentioned many times, you are like full time on the road with these guys, but we're not overlooking some of the red states, we're not overlooking some of these races. Those are some of the ones that are factored in. But certainly when you look at some of these blue states, whether it be in Michigan or wherever else, and you go, man, there's there's honestly a chance to pick up the the U.S. Senate seat in Michigan or some congressional races, et cetera, et cetera. Uh, and so it's something that as we are analyzing the data, first of all, as you're kind of pointing out, recognize the data can be very skewed, number one. Uh, but also number two, even some of the voter uh information that we have to this point, as you're acknowledging, it doesn't give the full picture. So don't let the media spin it on us one way where it might discourage Christians from showing up and getting involved. We have to make sure we Show up and get involved. And that's honestly why all three of us are going to be on the road pretty much full time the next couple of weeks. We're gonna be doing, when we're not traveling, we're gonna be doing podcasts and interviews and things to encourage Christians and people to get involved and get out in the vote, which is exactly why you were on the road right now. I think uh last night were you guys, I think in Florida, you're in Georgia today, if I remember right, on your schedule. I don't know. Y'all are going all over the place, uh, especially this week. So it's something that just for people listening, to reassure some of them, hey, we're not overlooking some of the red states. Uh, where there is an identified need that we can help, that we can engage pastors in those areas, that is happening. But certainly we are recognizing the opportunity to pick up in some of these areas in blue states where there are people waking up going, hey, I don't think we like this direction. Maybe we want to go a different direction, and there are opportunities to pick up some seats in those areas.
Rick GreenYeah, and I think it's a great reminder for all of our listeners and for them to remind their friends and family about, you know, regardless of what the polls are saying, regardless of how good we're feeling or not feeling about, you know, what's happening in that particular congressional race or Senate race or whatever, uh, our duty doesn't change. Absolutely our responsibility to go vote, absolutely our responsibility to encourage others to do the same. But it is encouraging to know that there's a lot of good signs right now because there are those who will stay home. If they, you know, if they if they think it's all over and we're gonna lose no matter what or we're gonna win big no matter what, they stay home. That's not good. That's that's lazy, I think, and that's that's being spiritually immature, but it's just a fact of life. It's just human nature. So I think it's just bears repeating for everyone right now. It is neck and neck in so many of these races. It really is going to be determined by this last-minute turnout and the people that really do the the extra mile push in this final week. Literally down to a week, guys. It's hard to believe it's already uh down to a week. Seems like just yesterday we were saying we got a month left, you know, but no, it

Election Night Coverage And What To Expect
Rick GreenThanks for staying with us. Got a week left in before the uh final day of the election, November 3rd, of course. And quick reminder uh election night, be sure and watch Victory News and Flashpoint. David and Tim, myself, and many of our friends and others will be on both of those programs, giving some commentary that night and just watching the returns come in, analyzing what's coming in. Um I do have to ask you guys, is it going to be a late night? What's your what's your what's your thought on that? Do you think we'll know pretty quick, or should uh should I bring some extra, you know, coffee and snacks?
SPEAKER_01I I'll give you my thought on it. If we know pretty quick, it's a bad night, uh I think. Um if it if it extends for a while, I think that's really good. Uh that's that means a lot of what's expected. And and by the way, I mentioned that the the president's party in power usually loses twenty-five to twenty-eight seats. Well I'll point out even if Republicans only lose four seats and break all the the records, the media's still gonna say, oh, it was a repudiation, it was a complete landslide, whatever. So I I think it could go for a while. But I also can see the possibility that with the Senate races, we may know fairly early. Um I uh there's there's some inter we were just in Michigan, there's some interesting stuff there. I saw some headlines in Michigan I've not seen outside the state. Um, but Al Saeed, uh I mean Rogers, uh Mike Rogers had been unrelenting in calling him out for Muslim Brotherhood and for all the other stuff, uh, asking him, challenging him to repudiate certain terrorist activities, which he's not not wanted to do, and affiliations. And and so what what's happened is while I was in Michigan, I saw that the chairman of the Michigan Democrat Party said, I am not going to vote for him uh for El Saeed for for senator. I'm gonna leave that blank. I'm voting for other Democrats, but I'm not voting for him. And he had even made recommendations that that other people can do the same because there's a lot of concern. And even beyond that, Mike Rogers has got Democrats for Mike Rogers working for him. So that could be a surprising race, and it's usually you you kind of know the trend on Senate races fairly early in the evening, and and we could see Mike Rogers, and that's not an expected uh expected seat up there, an expected gain. So that could be, you know, another one of those very interesting things, and we're just kinda now I'm gonna go back. Nobody knows what's gonna happen until the votes are counted. And the good news is that since the Trump uh fiasco uh vote counting stuff back, what was that 20 and and and 2020, there have been 156 state laws passed by states to clean up and and take some of that confusion away. So it's gonna be a lot clearer on election night, and there's gonna be a lot less questions about the integrity of the vote and the accuracy of the vote. So again, we're not gonna know until those votes are counted. And we can say all we want to, and I I don't mean we, I mean the pundits can say all they want to about early voter turnout, but what if nobody shows up on election day? I mean, this is all speculation until all the votes are cast and counted. And I know Texas, it used to be just three cycles ago, only about one-fourth of Republicans would vote early and they waited until election day. Democrats, two to two-thirds or three-fourths would vote early. You know, if Texans or more Republicans are voting early now, does that mean that they're gonna have a landslide on election day, or does that mean that maybe nobody votes because they all we just don't know? And there's so many scenarios with numbers that don't really matter that much until the votes are counted. And that's kind of my bottom line. So even if I think that we might get Rogers' place in Michigan, we're still busting our tail to get people turned out in Michigan, regardless of what our hope might be. And that's the same in every place we're working. Uh we're gonna be with Lieutenant Governor in Indiana uh tomorrow. And I mean, there's just a lot of places that we think can use some help. And I'm I'm looking forward to election night. And Rick, you mentioned we're doing the coverage. Uh I'm looking forward to reporting on election night because I think there's gonna be some really surprising trends that pop up. And I think some of that will be seen early. Probably the Senate races will be seen early. We'll know. But I think the House races may go late into the night, but but again, that's that's just speculation until we see.
Rick GreenYeah, I think so too, David. I think we're gonna have uh lots of surprises. Really looking forward to the evening. Uh there's so many races, too. It's gonna be a fun night to uh just to respond
Early Voting Advice And Voter Guide
Rick Greento. Uh Tim, but what's you, you know, what do you say to people, though, you know, eight days really, well, seven days uh by the time most people listen to this program. I mean, we're one week away. Now's the time to press the gas. Most people can still early vote for the rest of this week, right?
SPEAKER_02Uh correct. And this is something that um highly encourage early voting. Now, ultimately, um, I would be in favor of making election day a national holiday. I think it's totally ridiculous for some of these states that have early voting for a month or even longer. Uh, I mean, I think it's crazy because the more you extend it, and especially when you start doing all these mail-in ballots, the more you're creating an opportunity for dishonest people to attempt to do dishonest things. So I would much rather we have a national holiday, it's election day. And honestly, that we would be able to know by a certain time of night uh exactly who won these elections. I think it's ridiculous also that in some of these states it takes them weeks because they got to count all these votes. We got to wait for all the mailing ballots and et cetera, et cetera. I think it's silly. But with that being said, I do support if early voting is a possibility, I do support people using and utilizing early voting. And so I'm I'm gonna be early voting this week. And the reason is I I am absolutely planning on being uh available and I could vote on election day. But if something, God forbid, happened, right? If if I had a vehicle breakdown, if I got stuck somewhere and I didn't have a chance to vote, I would feel terrible. And so I would rather vote early uh so that if there was an issue, I would still have, okay, well, I'll vote tomorrow. I right I want to prioritize this because is that important? So I would definitely say if people have a chance to early vote, they need to go ahead and early vote now. Uh, if people are confused about who some of the candidates are, you can go to Christian Voterguy.com. There's lots of information there uh where you can find. out more about the candidates where you can find out who's running for office in your area so you can have an idea of who you want to vote for. Um and and a little bit to both of you guys kind of point acknowledgement, I think not only will there be some some fun surprises, I I do expect that it will be a positive night. Now, obviously as we've already caveated, it all depends on if Christians Show up and who turns out. But I I think what we are seeing now is trending in a very favorable direction, which will be a surprise for a lot of people that uh generally when the midterms Dad, as you mentioned in the beginning, the midterms generally are going to go in the favor of the political party that is not currently the one of the president. So if the Republicans are president, usually Democrats win the midterm. I don't know that's going to be the case this time. I definitely think it's not correct for the Senate. I think Republicans maintain the Senate. I think there's a really good chance that they can maintain the House and maybe even gain some seats. So I am very much encouraged and again if Christians will Show up go early vote. Tell your friends get involved be good stewards. Don't sit this out we are the rulers of America it's we the people that are in charge Show up get involved and I think it's going to be a really good election night. And guys I know we're almost out of time but Rick,
Mercury One Gala And Research Center Honor
SPEAKER_02you and I talked about this weekend where we were and what we did. Something else happened this weekend Mercury One had their gala um which that's our good friends over Mercury One, uh JP Decker, Suzanne Grishman, they're the ones that are the executive directors over there. Mercury One, of course, is Glenn Beck's nonprofit. My Dad and I are on the board over there. And normally Rick, you and I would probably have been at the Mercury One gala, but it was the same night that we were the same day that we were up at Liberty. I was actually speaking at the gala at Liberty that night. So I wasn't there but Dad, you were there and I'm gonna say it and then ask you to tell us about it so you don't have to feel awkward telling us. But you received the Bonhoffer award which is the yearly award they give for courageous sacrificial leaders. But then my favorite part is they uh for their new facility because this also was uh a gala in their new building which is just incredible it's a huge building for people that come to the Dallas area at some point you need to come see this this is one of the places it's one of the museums that we've partnered and helped with so some of our artifacts are over there some of Glenn Beck's artifacts are there the American Journey Experience has a ton of their own stuff it's an amazing collection. Well they have opened a wing over there it's a research center and they named it the David Barton Research Center to honor you, Dad, for all the work you have done for so many years. Glenn Beck is the one that uh kind of told the audience what had gone on. There was an incredible tribute video. So Dad, tell us since we weren't there, tell us just a little bit about the Mercury One Gala and about the the awards and honors that you received that night.
SPEAKER_01Well the awards and honors I I appreciate them but I tell you what I I'm I'm excited about the new center. It's four acres under roof uh AI goggle stuff that allow you to be like in the American Revolution where you will see the stuff we have the artifacts and and allow you to interact as if you're in some of the battles if some of the great things that happen. We've got one set up now where you can walk into the tent of General Edward Braddock back in the young Washington and see what it was like to be in that British tent with Washington and the general and just a lot of cool stuff. But it's going to allow us to take all these documents we've had the 1700 or so and put them out where they can be used and accessed. We've had so many in storage and now with four acres under roof they'll come out of storage. People will be able to see and do research there. It'll be a premier research place in the United States for ritual documents. It's gonna be awesome and and thank I I mean I don't know what to say but they were kind enough to to name it after me and so hopefully that won't deter anybody from coming and seeing the documents and the awesome stuff that's there.
Final Push To Vote
Rick GreenI think the opposite effect for sure I think people are going to come all over the country and and want to be a part of that and definitely well deserved and so excited about it and um what a great award on the Bonhoeffer award as well. Render honor unto whom honor is due. That's what the Bible tells us to do. And uh of course Tim and I know how humble you are and you don't talk about this stuff or brag about it or any of that. But man we just uh are are thankful to see you honored in this way incredibly well deserved. All right folks make sure you get out and vote early voting a few more days this week tell your friends and family we'll have more to say about it tomorrow. Thanks for listening to the Wallpopper show
