And we are going to jump right back into the Pro-family Legislators conference. If you were listening last week, we shared the opening night presentation from David Barton to the state legislators. These are Reps and senators and other spouses from all over the country, a packed house, everybody excited about what happened in the election and wondering what to do next. And so last week we shared David's opening presentation, which was all about what do you do when a prayer is answered? Then it's time to press the gas, then it's time to move forward. You know, so many good examples from that last week from from Washington. And his prayers answered, but still had to, you know, go out and win the war to Lincoln, to Peyton, and especially the one I love, the one from the Battle of the Bulge, and and how once the skies cleared, they still had to go win the battle. And so today, tomorrow and Wednesday will be sharing some additional talks from the Pro-family legislators conference. And of course, later on this week, we've got Thanksgiving and we'll have some special programing about the history of Thanksgiving. And then I don't know what we'll do Friday. Maybe it'll be a regular good news Friday, but for today we're going to share my presentation. That was the next morning after David's presentation at Pro-family Legislators conference. By the way, I'm Rick Green, America's Constitution coach. And normally here with David and Tim Barton, Tim Barton's a national speaker and pastor and president of WallBuilders, David Barton, of course, our founder here at WallBuilders, and no doubt America's premier historian. And so today we'll get my presentation about Nehemiah and what do we do post-election. And then tomorrow and Wednesday, we'll get David Barton's presentation following that, talking about the Bible in schools. Okay, so let's jump right in this my presentation at the Pro-family Legislators conference. 

Rick Green [00:02:20] Hey, fellow Patriots, I'm Rick. Green, America's Constitution coach and Founder of Patriot Academy. All of us are in this room because we know the culture is crumbling and we want to pick up the pieces and rebuild. Started for me 23 years ago when I was a state rep in Texas, really frustrated with how even conservative legislators had no principles. It was finger to the wind. They weren't voting based on core conservative, constitutional biblical principles. They were voting on whatever was popular. So, out of frustration, I started Patriot Academy to raise up a new generation of leaders. We trained 16 to 25 year olds in the state capital where they get to be a legislator for the week and experience what it's like to make laws. And we've got graduates from Patriot Academy serving in Congress, state legislatures and in school boards all across the nation. And we even expanded it to military veterans with their own special leadership Congress, so that we can prepare them to run for office as well. This past summer, we held eight leadership Congresses all over the nation, training young people, military veterans and citizens of all ages, including our Constitution coaches. We began that constitution coach program back in 2020 as a way to teach people to host constitution classes in their homes, churches, libraries. Now, their Constitution class is going all over the country. We've had 5000 classes and over a million people go through these constitution classes in three short years. We now have 26,000 constitution coaches all across America in every state and almost every community. Our most popular course is biblical citizenship in modern America. We're teaming up with Liberty Pastors I Voter Guide, Salt and Light Council, Family Research Council, Turning Point and many other camp members. We're equipping their members with constitutional literacy to restore the republic. And here's the best part. Becoming a coach is free. And the course is free. Our goal is to provide our content for free in order to activate the church so we can see our biblical values represented in all areas of our lives. Especially in government. Join us at Patriot academy.com. It is very appropriate that you are at the WallBuilders Pro-family Legislators Conference this weekend because it is time to rebuild. I thought I was so wrong about this. I was. I always pictured that we were in the book of Nehemiah and for the last 24 years, working with David and Sheryl and Tim and Gabby and the whole WallBuilders team, I thought we were in that part of Nehemiah where we were actually building walls. It occurred to me on election night that it's actually been all of that time to convince the king to give us the blessing and the favor and the resources to now actually go rebuild. And in our case, in our country, the king is not the president. The king is we the people and the we the people just gave us their blessing a week ago to rebuild the foundations in America. And of course, WallBuilders is perfectly positioned to do that and you are positioned to do that. And the hard work is just now beginning. You know that. I mean, now's the time where we tell everybody back home, arise and rebuild the walls that we may no longer be in disgrace. And what an opportunity we have. There's so much that we can actually do. Winning an election is not yet. Rebuilding win an election is like winning the coin toss. Now we've got to get on the field and actually win the fight. And I love the fact that you are willing to do that. You wouldn't be here if you weren't. And the hard work is going to be I mean, literally lay in the bricks. It's going to be rebuilding the foundational principles in our country, fighting off the enemy. If you think about Nehemiah, remember when I first came to work for WallBuilders and David would talk about their Nehemiah how if you read through Nehemiah, you really learn how to fight a culture war because Nehemiah had to deal with all of those same criticisms, all the lies, all the all the distortions and libel and slander, all the attacks, all the attempts to stop him from rebuilding. And I believe we're going to face all of that as we enter this phase of rebuilding. But we can do that. We can fight off the enemy. We can actually do the digging deep and within that foundation. And here's the good news. All of this bricklaying that we've got to do, you're the bricklayers. You're the ones that are going to actually take those bricks and put them in place as we rebuild these foundations in America. You're going to lead the way in your states to help make that happen. And there's so many people just waiting for you to raise that banner. They're ready to rally, man. There is a hunger right now on an appetite. I've never seen this in my in my lifetime. It's not just that we won elections and and got people into certain positions. The people themselves are hungry for this and crying out for this. They've had enough of the pain. You know what a difference a year makes, right? A year ago I was talking about how bad everything was crumbling and how how how we're entering the tough times because of, you know, tough times make tough man, tough man, good times, good times, make soft men and soft men lead us into tough times. And we've been soft. We've been spoiled. We've been enjoying the blessings of liberty for so long. We stopped doing the hard work that it takes to actually enjoy the good times. And so last year we were talking about that and people felt enough of the pain that they actually started saying, I've had enough of this. I don't want this anymore. There's got to be a better way. We got to try something new. But the challenge is they don't even know what that is yet. They're crying out in pain right now, saying there's got to be a better way, so let's just try something different. But they don't yet know what the bricks are that need to be laid. In other words, we have to know what the foundation is that actually works. What are the principles when we say we're going to rebuild the walls, when we're going to pick up the pieces and rebuild, what is it that we're going to build with? What are the materials that we're going to put in place to have a nation that actually lasts? Well, what we're going to rebuild, as you can see right there in your schedule, we're going to rebuild truth, justice and the American way. Now, that's that's the that's essentially the best summary I can think of to describe what made America great in the first place. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they're endowed by their. No, no. It's your Congress you're endowed by. Congress. No, you're not endowed by Congress. You're endowed by who? You want a Christian nationalist? I mean, apparently that's what that means. You actually believe that your freedoms come from God, not government. Really? You know, when that gal said that on the news, you know, that finally somebody defined this, made up pejorative, this these terms they always love to throw at us Dominionist or Christian nationals. I don't know what they're going to come up with next, but I loved it that that reporter finally defined it for us. You know, these people actually believe their freedom comes from God. My first thought was, you know, I think Jefferson would like to have a word with this woman. I mean, it's the very foundation of who we are. Right. But anyway, I think the the Supreme it was actually from the radio show that originally came up with that truth, Justice and the American way. And of course, a great sign of how bad the culture has been crumbling. You know, Dennis Prager says it best. The left destroys everything it touches, even Superman. I mean, now, you know, they've got a bisexual Superman now. They actually took out American Way. And it's truth, Justice and a Better tomorrow. They wanted to be unburdened by, you know, what has been. Of course that doesn't work. We know the foundations that need to be rebuilt. You know this. I'm just going to run through this real quick. Most of you have been through our biblical citizenship in modern America. Of course, if you haven't go to wallbuilders.com and get that class. Make sure that you're doing that in your districts, getting your constituents educated on these things. But but the foundation is very, very well explained in the monument to the forefathers. And as most of you know, Kirk Cameron did a movie about this about ten years ago. And then he teaches in our biblical citizenship class. The first week of the class is Kirk walking through the monument. And so I'm not going to dive too far into the weeds here. But but as we all know, you've got to build this whole thing on a faith foundation. That's why the top of the monument is faith. That's why it's such a focal point of who we are. And we know that that's what made America great in the first place. And that's the beauty of what WallBuilders has done for the last 30 years. Is is is teach people that if you want the outcome of liberty, then you have to have the inputs that will produce them. You have to know what the spring training is that will give you a good season as you go out there as a citizen. And so faith is absolutely the foundation of it, and that's where we get our morality from and the definition of what is right and wrong. That's why we can say that we hold certain truths to be self-evident because of that faith foundation that gives us that morality. And then, of course, the monument talks about the law and how important that is. We all know in the song America the Beautiful, it's liberty in law. If you don't have law, you don't have liberty. And last year, that was actually the point of my whole talk, was, was the fact that we had perverted justice in this country to the point that we were losing faith in every institution in the country. And we have to come back in and rebuild that faith in those institutions. And that means having a good legal system and a good justice system where we have blind equal justice. And then, of course, the way you perpetuate this is education. And that's why that's such a big, important part of the monument to the forefathers. So the for me is really quite simple. You've got to have faith. You got to have a strong spiritual foundation in the country that teaches and gives you that morality that you then embed into the law and then you constantly educate each generation as they come through. And that's how you get liberty. And I love in the Monument of the Forefathers how liberty man is, man. He is Jack, as Kirk Cameron says in our class, he is. He's muscular, he's strong, he's courageous, he's bold. He's willing to stand. If we want to keep liberty. That's the way that we've got to be. So if you want to go further into that, make sure you get biblical citizenship in modern America and take that class with your family and and friends. And as as the video said, it's free. This is kind of where we are. We we we've saved for a moment. Well, at least we've taken the first step in rescuing the Constitution from this massive fire and this Marxist agenda in our country. And now the question is, can we take back ground?

Rick Green [00:14:14] Can we actually take over education again and actually have education be a positive in this country instead of it being used for the last like it has for the last 40 years to undermine America, to teach our children to hate their own nation. All the country in history that I know of that purposely taught its own children to hate their own nation, to hate each other, to hate themselves. I mean, it has been so destructive. And so we've got to take education back. And of course, as legislators, you're at the forefront of being able to do that. Well, we want to come alongside you and do through Patrick Academy and WallBuilders is help you to educate the people in your communities about what it is that makes a great nation and get them to fall in love once again. It's not enough to just win an election. I mean, listen, this was this was this was not you know, we keep saying it's a landslide and all that, But, I mean, look, at least, you know, almost half of the ballots in America still like socialism. You notice how I said that? Because I'm not sure if the ballot actually matches up to a person yet or not. So but at least we still have close to 50% of the country that voted for the most empty shell of of of a candidate that we've ever had in America and that still wanted to try to implement so many of these Marxist policies. So we've got a lot of work to do to actually win the nation back. This rebuilding, this laying of these bricks is going to take some time. So we need to get the people in America to once again fall in love with freedom of conscience. I think a big part of what allowed us to have the victories that we did last week is that many of those that were on the left even even said, you know, if you listen to Rogan in most interview, they both say, I was on the left just three years ago. And it was the lack of freedom of speech. It was the attack of of trying to micromanage what people could actually say or think that pushed them into our welcome arms. And we're glad to have them. We can and we need to be teaming up with everybody that we possibly can. Even those who don't agree with us 100% of the time, or even sometimes 60% of the time. We need to be teaming up with anybody that's marching towards liberty right now. This is this is kind of one of those situations where, you know, we're going to team up sometimes with Stalin to defeat Hitler. All right. That's the strategy that you have to be willing to implement in order to get the victory and defeat the worst enemy right in front of you. And then you can start backing up from there. But we got to get them to fall in love with things like the natural right of self-defense. I'm thrilled that you've got a guy like Elon Musk that was campaigning all over the country and standing on stages saying that we needed to protect the First Amendment. And the Second Amendment actually talked about that. The Second Amendment is not so that you go hunting instead of it's to make sure that you can fight off a tyrannical government. I mean, most let's be honest, most legislators that know what the Second Amendment was intended to do are afraid to say that publicly. And here you got the wealthiest man on the planet going all over the place talking about it. I just think that's really, really good. But that's part of that process of getting people to fall in love with these ideas. Fallen in love again with blind equal justice that will all be treated the same under the law. Red, white, yellow, black or brown. Whatever your religious persuasion, whatever your your political persuasion. We've got to get people to love blind justice again and talk about the benefits of a due process. Why is it important to have those things? The whole concept of separation of powers and checks and balances, not just checks and balances between the, you know, the executive and the legislative and the and the judicial. But checks and balances between the states and the feds, I mean, implementing basically getting people to understand how this system actually works and why it's incredibly valuable and then getting them to once again fall in love with the idea of limited jurisdictions. The government's not going to solve all your problems and shouldn't and that you cannot expect it to, that we only have government for certain reasons and each level of government or section of government has certain jurisdiction. So we can do that. But to do that, we've got to do the heavy lifting of of putting those bricks in place. And the founders told us how to do it all the way back at the beginning. John Jay Every member of the state ought diligently to read and study the Constitution and teach the rising generation to be free by knowing their rights. If we know our rights, if we know what the Constitution actually says, we will perceive when they're violated and be the better prepared to defend and assert those rights. So that's the that's the real mission right there. You know, when we do biblical citizenship in modern America, our Constitution alive at the beginning. That's what, you know. David takes us through that quote right there. And he shows each of those steps and how that is what's necessary to lay that foundation and restore. So really, our mission has not changed from last year. An election is nothing more than a it's kind of a a measurement of how well we have discipleship because the our mission, our mission, our great commission is still to go and make disciples of all nations teaching them to obey everything except the things that are politically controversial. That's the attitude of too many in the church, right? Teaching them to obey everything I've commanded. Right. So if we know to make disciples, no topic can be off the table. We've got to be willing to teach and disciple a biblical worldview on every single issue. So our mission, our mission has not changed. And the election measures how well we've done it, making disciples over the last 2 or 3 or 5 or 10 years and we've done better, but we still got a long way to go. We lost seven of ten pro-life battles. We you know, there's just a lot of work still to be done. I'm not trying to throw cold water on all the victories. Just recognize where we are. We've got to be men and women of the car, understanding the times and knowing what to do, understanding what this victory actually means. David laid it out so well last night. We have this victory. We have this answer to prayer. Now's the time not to sit back and go, thank goodness. Take care of it, Trump. Now is the time to say, let's press the gas man. Let's go forward as fast as we can. Let's take as much ground as we possibly can. 

Rick Green [00:21:03] So for us, we still got the same three big goals we laid out last year. We need 5 million biblical citizens in this country that have been through that training that are ready to go take back their communities that are actually taking those steps. 100,000 coaches teaching this all over the country and 10,000 candidates. So a big part of how you can help us to do that, an action step that will help you in your district. And some of you in this room have been doing this around your district. And, you know, it gives you an educated citizenry and it gives you volunteers and people that'll come testify at the legislature, all of those things. And it's not your typical boring history class. The most important thing, I think that the first time I heard David Barton on a cassette tape, that was that's how old I am. But when I was listening to David Barton on a cassette tape, many of you in this room, same thing. It brought history to life. And that's what we do in these classes. We make it fun and entertaining. You won't sleep through them, you'll actually enjoy them. We actually take you into Independence Hall and all these cool places where the history actually takes place. So be sure and check all that. And by the way, I did mention in the video we're doing these classes. I mean, we got constitution classes going in in libraries and living rooms and churches and bait and tackle shops. And Harley-Davidson dealerships got to coach conference a few months ago, told me he was doing his class at his funeral parlor. Which is kind of weird when you think about it. But if Democrats are going to vote dead people. We might as well make sure that we're that we're teaching. Okay. So you can do that as well. Make sure that you're helping to make that happen. That's just about 10% of our coaches across the country. We need to get more of those all over the nation and you'll be part of it. Now come see us. The Patriot Academy. But what we're doing is we're creating a essentially a place where people can come that were you and your constituents and family and others can come in there and spend 3 or 4 days. You can do a three day, five day, seven day experience. Most people don't get to do what you do. Most people have never sat in the legislators chair or sat in a committee. And I am convinced after 24 years of doing this, that if you put a citizen through a legislative simulation, they will be a better citizen for you. They will do. They will talk to you better instead of just throwing things at you and yelling at you because you don't do everything perfect around that. They'll understand the process. So you need to send people through our Patriot experience. I'll close with a 60s that'll show, you know, show you what we've done at the campus. We've now got our own House chamber and Legislative Hall and a Patriot experience happens right here in this new legislative hall that we just built here, the Patriot Cademy campus. And it's so much more than just learning the legislative simulation, the life purpose, cleaning the communications training so that you can be effective at winning people over to your values and to the constitutional republic that we have, getting them to love America again. And constitutional defense training, the physical training to be able to. Defend yourself and your family in the moment. Get some Constitution Day curriculum Bible curriculum in your schools. Get the Ten Commandments out there in schools. Get those in God we trust all these things, these God consciousness and these foundations. That's what we can be teaching. And then make sure that you're restoring federalism and that you're helping us to get the federal government back into its box. Trump is not going to be able to do all this by himself. And no matter what they get passed in Washington, D.C., it's temporary. We need constitutional amendments to actually solidify in the law the proper role of each level of government. And let's fix the enumeration. I don't call it a census because they do all these extra things. The Constitution calls it the enumeration. Only citizens should be counted. Only citizens should be counted. And and we need to correct the formula that they messed up and we need to not wait until 2030 to do it. That will take a constitutional moment to make that happen. And you are the legislators that can actually make that happen. And then let's fix the commerce clause and that'll get rid of those 400 agencies that Elon Musk wants to wants to zero out. So a lot of work to do. But obviously, the foundation is the Bible. If we saturate in truth and we build communities with others that we can work with, then we'll be able to attend the garden.
